Hi, I'm Casey. I'm a school librarian in Washington, and I built a book club app called Bound Together in my spare time. It keeps a small club in one place: everybody joins with an invite code, you can see how far each person has gotten in the book, the chat is split by quarters so nobody trips over a spoiler, and the club votes on what to read next. My own club uses it.
It's free, there are no ads, and it's already live on iPhone. The Android version is built and works fine, but Google won't let it launch until at least 12 people have joined the closed test and stayed in for 14 days. That's the part I can't do by myself, so here we are.
Tap the button and join with the Google account you use on your phone. Takes ten seconds, no approval step. This is what unlocks the app for your account.
Then open this link, tap "Become a tester", and install the app from the Play Store like normal. If it says the app isn't available, wait a few minutes after step 1 and try again. Google can be slow about it.
Open the app so Google counts you as active. Make a club if you want, or just look around. Either way is fine.
This is the ask that matters. Please leave the app installed and stay opted in for the full two weeks. If you opt out early, Google restarts your clock, and the 12 testers have to overlap.
Bugs, confusing bits, stuff you like. It all helps. Email me any time:
On an iPhone? Skip all of this, the app is already out: get it on the App Store.
Want to help twice? I have a second app going through the same testing, Real Social Circle. It's for small private groups, no feed or likes or any of that. Join its tester group, then opt in and install it. The same 14 days counts toward both.
